About Plovdiv

Plovdiv is a city older than Rome and Athens and contemporary of Troy and Mycenae. Along with the Faiyum (Egypt) and Sidon (Lebanon), Plovdiv is the fifth oldest city with continuous settlement in the world and first in Europe. He is also in the top ten of the most attractive tourism ancient cities alongside Athens, Jerusalem, Byblos, Beirut, Aleppo, Damascus, Varanasi and Sidon.

Undergone many changes today the city continues its development and preserve its unique atmosphere and charm.

Nowadays Plovdiv is the second largest city in Bulgaria and one of the most important economic and cultural centers of the country. In 2019, Plovdiv is the European Capital of Culture.
